What monitors do you like best? Or does it not...
I’ve owned three sets of speakers in my life, Event PS8s, Yamaha NS-10s and Focal CMS 50s. Right now I use my Focals mostly, and I’m about to get my NS-10s fixed. What matters most to me in a speaker is that it shows the painful frequencies. Lots of people use speakers that sound too big and smooth, and then in consequence their mixes end up small and harsh.

EXCELLENT question! Yes!! That is a beautiful thought you just had. You need to use a few types of compressors to get a mix sounding loud but still natural. When I’m mastering a song, I go through three types of compression: First a quick and light normal everyday life compressor (one you’d use on drums or vocals, etc.).
